Не тот альбом, с которого я бы рекомендовал знакомство с этой бандой(а все же с дебюта). Альбом весьма мелодичен, но выполнен в мрачном ключе. Хотя, скорее, в грустном, нежели прямо в "мрачном".

Vi sålde våra hemman och gav oss sedan ut, som fågelen bortflyger, när sommaren tar slut. Han kommer en gång åter när våren skrider fram, men vi få aldrig skåda vårt kära fosterland.
Och när vi kommo till den liverpoolska hamn begynte ångerns tårar så stritt att bryta fram. Det blev en hjärtans sveda i bröstet på var och en. Man talar blott om Sverige och om sitt förra hem.
Vi packades tillsammans uti ett osunt kvav. Det var för oss att skåda liksom en öppen grav. Och födan som vi fraktat ifrån vår svenska jord den blev oss nu förbjuden att taga med ombord.
Och när vi hade seglat en vecka eller två, ett mörker däcket höljde och bredde sig därpå. Ej se varann vi kunde, knappt andas eller gå. Det var en gruvlig plåga för stora och för små.
Nu blir en ömklig hunger, med sorg och grät och gny. En jämmer som sig tränger till himlens höga sky. Och döden gruvligt härjar bland mänskorna ombord. Man ser de döda kastas i havets vilda flod.
Det är det som grämer mitt hjärta till min död. Att se de arma barnen här gråta efter bröd. Vi kunde ej dem hjälpa, ej lindra deras snöp. De måste nu få gråta och sedan därpå dö.

Внезапно наткнулся на свежий концерт Мэйденов. Брюсу как всегда респект, так прыгать по сцене в свои 60 и устраивать невероятное шоу с костюмами и декорациями. А что самое крутое - тут почти все старые лучшие темы!
Чем, на ваш взгляд, Дио так выделяется, что его чуть ли не в лик святых не возводят? Я вот сколько слушаю, так этого понять не могу(его смерть и как следствие волна хайпа — другой вопрос, его возвеличивали и при жизни). Если меня спросят, чем хорош тот же Хэлфорд, то я смогу пояснить, но вот Дио... Что в нем люди находят, поясните.
Предлагаю вам послушать концерт моих фаворитов на поприще современного течения традиционного металла. Лайв в пабе, но записано отлично, я считаю, -- все инструменты слышны чётко, а вокалист рвёт стратосферу своим фальцетом. Сет-лист ниже видео:

Наверно, один из самых разнообразных альбомов Могильщика, который все же выдержан в молотильном ключе всего традиционного металла конца 90-х, начала нулевых. Слушается на удивление на одном дыхании — ты просто не устаешь от обычного однообразия. Тут с этим, повторюсь, все куда лучше: и смены ритмов, настроений, контрастов и приятное развитие в песнях, как я люблю. Ну и конечно, рифф в Экскалибуре — мое уважение.
