Annihilator - For The Demented, 2017; Canada

Evilman постил аж 13 сентября новую(тогда) песню Аннигилятора и вот прошло достаточно много времени, альбом успел выйти, но на реакторе он почему-то не появился. Исправлю ситуацию. 

Странный альбом. И, вроде, хочется похвалить, но в то же время слишком за многое хочется поругать. Похвалить хочу за забойные треки и немного нестандартные мелодии, за некую даже лиричность и мрачность некоторых песен(Phantom Asuylum, Dark). Поругать хочу за, прости господи, поп-панк "The Way", мегасмертеподобную "Not All There" и сопливую, хоть и не лишенную прекрасного, "Pieces Of You". 

Я в некой растерянности. Альбом сочетает жесткий аннигиляторовский трэшак, в то же время в нем находится место для совсем уж банальных и попсовых песен(в духе самой банальной альтернативы 2000-х и, может, даже баллад металлики). Да, местами, эти вещицы цепляют(но не "The Way"), тем не менее альбом создает какое-то не целостное впечатление. Думаю, даже сказать, что он "выше среднего" нельзя, если брать за "среднее" — работы каких-то менее популярных команд и "возрождателей стиля".

Linkin Park - Minutes To Midnight, 2007; USA

После смерти Честера ютуб просто с ума сошёл и в моих рекомендациях стали попадаться концерты LP. И после 100-го случая я таки решил включить и послушать. И годно-то, лайв версия Given Up меня так поразила своей неподдельной энергетикой и насколько Честер выкладывается при исполнении её. А т.к. он ещё и руки на себя наложил, то песня звучит как "самый громкий крик о помощи". 

Альбом 2007 года, наверно, последний, который можно смело отнести к металлу. Он достаточно жёсткий(Given Up, No More Sorrow) и также весьма лирический(What I've Done, Leave Out All The Rest) и с привычным для LP хип-хоп элементом(Bleed It Out). Но т.к. концовка альбома достаточно размазана соплями, то я решил добавить в самый конец ещё песню с демки Underground 6.0 Qwerty, которая напомнит тем, кто, может, забыл, что такое NU Metal.

В принципе, это ещё более-менее "классический" LP, хоть и с достаточно большим кол-вом сопливо-попсовых песен(кто-то, поди, скажет, что у них все песни достаточно сопливо-попсовые :) ).
